Peaceful Understanding

Join Us

Midland Area Interfaith Friends was formed to discover ways in which members of various faith communities could come together and find areas which unite rather than divide us. It is the founders’ belief that familiarity with people of various faiths will help reduce fear and prejudice and foster greater harmony among all of us.

About Us

In December of 2015, a group was gathered for Bible study. As they discussed the changing climate in the country, a desire was expressed to find a way to reach out to all faiths in an effort to express inclusion and unity. Today, Midland Area Interfaith Friends is the culmination of that effort, building bigger tables.

Bridging the Gap

Understanding

Like the bee gathering honey from different flowers, the wise person accepts the essence of the different scriptures, and sees only the good in all religions. ~Gandhi

Peace

Let the good in me connect with the good in others, until all the world is transformed the compelling power of love.
~Rebbe Nachman of Breslov

Tolerance

Jesus was kind, patient, and tolerant because he came, not to judge people, but to heal them spiritually. Love was his primary motivation.
~John 3:17, 13:34

Unity

Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zorostarian, Stone ground, Mountain, River, each has a secret way of being with mystery, unique, and not be judged.
~ Rumi
